Project Scope:
Facilitate a strategic planning workshop with the management team and Board. Develop and deliver a confidential survey prior to the workshop. Draft a three year strategic plan following the workshop.
Organisation Profile:
Aged Care organisation in a regional town with part-time CEO, 9 Board Members, and 4 managers. Annual turnover of $6.5m and employing approx. 125 people.
Process:

Outcomes:
The Board and Management team were able to undertake the strategic planning process with the assistance of an experienced and unbiased third party to facilitate the process. Having CareCFO manage the processes ensured that staff members were not burdened with additional work above and beyond their usual workload, and the CEO reported that the strategic planning process was stress free and completed in a much faster timeframe compared to when the organisation has managed the process internally. The Chair provided feedback that having an external party facilitate.

Project Scope:
Map a range of processes within the Human Resources (HR) function to identify areas with potential for improved efficiency. This project followed a benchmarking project that identified a high FTE head count in the HR team when compared to similar organisations.
Organisation Profile:
Large Home Care and Disability provider with a centralised Human Resources team. Organisation employs over 1,000 people and has an annual turnover of approximately $25m.
Findings:

No HR executive managing HR strategy.

HR team reporting to Chief Financial Officer.

Lack of HR strategy.

No Human Resources software systems, all processes being undertaken manually.

Rapid organisation growth compounding pressure on antiquated processes.

Core HR functions including recruitment, training records, police checks, etc. managed by multiple excel spreadsheets.

Recruitment time per new recruit averaged 35 hours per employee from application to onboarding.

Multiple functions being duplicated in hard and soft copy.

Personnel file audit identified inconsistencies and key documentation gaps.
Recommendations:
Recommendation to review the organisational structure as a HR executive would be consistent for organisations of a similar size. Recommendation to implement a Human Resources Management System to streamline processes and gain automation and efficiency across a range of HR processes.
Outcomes:
The client was able to review the appropriateness of the structure of their HR team comparative to industry best practice and benchmarks. The information from the review provided clear actional items to improve processes to create efficiency. The client was able to review roles and responsibilities to streamline processes and reduce duplication of tasks.

Project Scope:
Implement a full set of policies, procedures, and flowcharts relating to a new Home Care business that integrates with the existing quality framework of the Residential Aged Care business.
Organisation Profile:
Residential Aged Care provider commencing a Home Care business.
Process:

Implementations:

Outcomes:
The client was able to ensure compliance to Aged Care Quality Standards without burdening an existing member of staff with the obligation of developing the required documents.
